What are the different colors beagles come in? Beagles come in 25+ color combinations. The most popular is the traditional black, tan, and white tricolor beagle which we breed but also, due to increased interest, have also started breeding the dilute colors (blue/silver and lilac). Pictures available in the EXPLORING BEAGLE COLORS section.

Will the color of my puppies coat change from when they are born? Yes! Beagles coats change dramatically from the day they are born and constantly are changing until they reach about one year of age at which time they will likely have the coat color they will have for their lifetime.

Are beagles good with children? Yes! Beagles have a friendly and outgoing nature which makes them great family pets. They are social dogs which means they love to be around other people. They are affectionate and love to cuddle. As beagles enjoy being playful, this provides great companionship for kids. Beagles are among the top breeds for being family/child friendly.

Where are you located? We are located in Shelley, Idaho (just outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho).

When will my beagle be ready to go home? We allow our beagles to go home at 8 weeks old but not before. They learn so much from mom and littermates that they simply are not ready to go home socially before then. If a family has a schedule conflict and needs us to keep them for longer, we can typically accommodate that.

Do you ship/transport your beagles? We do NOT ship our beagles under any circumstances. We do however offer pet nanny services (for an additional cost) that will transport the beagle to you via ground or flight transport. If you live near Boise, Idaho or Salt Lake City, Utah we do frequently transport puppies to those locations for a minimal fee, as most of the time we can coordinate meeting with other buyers in or around those areas.

Do you allow families to visit the puppies prior to placing a deposit? Yes, we actually encourage it. If you live near us, you are welcome to set up a time to visit our home and the parents. We feel like this is a very importance decision and sometimes choosing with only a photo is sometimes difficult. We do, however, take measures to keep diseases from coming into our home and do not allow families to bring other pets with them.

Do you allow buyers of your puppies to breed your dogs? We sell all of our puppies with "limited" AKC registration but if a family or breeder desires to breed, we do offer "full" registration for an additional $500 after screening the potential family/breeder and discussing breeding practices.

How do I get on the waiting list for one of your puppies? Please fill out the application HERE

Do you require a deposit to hold a puppy and how much? Yes, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold the puppy of your choice. The reason it is nonrefundable is to assure that you indeed want the puppy you selected as we then "reserve" that puppy for you which essentially takes that puppy out of the availability pool and, if you back out, we are able to reduce the price of the puppy by $500 in order to find a new home for him/her. The older a puppy gets, the harder it is to find a family willing to pay full price. Deposits can be paid via cash (if local), Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, or Apple Pay. Fees may apply depending on which of those you use. Cashier's checks are also an option if electronic deposits are not possible for you. Deposits will go towards the purchase price of the puppy. The remaining amount due at pick up must be paid in cash.

How much do beagles shed? They are considered "moderate" shedders. If you keep them brushed and bathed, they are far less likely to shed.

How long do beagles live? The life span of a beagle is typically 12-15 years.

Do you remove the dewclaws on your puppies? Yes. We have found, through past experience, that removing them prevents potential injuries. As they are located higher on the leg, they can be prone to catching on objects, potentially leading to injuries requiring medical attention and sometimes surgical removal of them.

Do you offer stud services? Yes, we do. As we are located near Idaho Falls, Idaho, we are willing to travel 60 minutes in any one direction for breeding or you can come to us. Stud service guarantees one live litter. If breeding is unsuccessful the first time, you may bring your female back for a re-breed on her next cycle at no charge. Progesterone testing is recommended (but not required) to make sure she is at a fertile stage in her cycle prior to bringing her for breeding.

Do you ever have retired adult beagles that you put up for adoption? Yes, on occasion we do. Many times families who adopt a puppy from us are interested in taking home mom or dad when they retire from breeding. We will be responsible for spaying/neutering these dogs before they go home. Please let us know if this is something you are interested in. You do not have to have purchased a puppy from us to adopt a retired beagle.

Do you ever allow your puppies go to guardian homes? Yes, we LOVE guardian homes for our puppies. Please see our section on GUARDIAN HOMES if you are interested in this program.
